Exam dates
The 9 August 2026 civil service exam was suspended in NCR and parts of Luzon
The Career Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test set for Sunday, 9 August 2026 went ahead in most of the country. It did not go ahead everywhere. The Civil Service Commission suspended testing that morning in the National Capital Region, in selected provinces of Region IV-A, and in parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region, because of the weather and what it was doing to the safety of getting to a testing centre.
The suspension covered both the Professional and the Subprofessional levels. If your testing centre was in one of those areas, you did not sit the examination and you are not waiting for a result.
What we know
- The suspension was announced on the morning of the examination, and it applied to testing centres rather than to examinees - what matters is where your centre was, not where you live.
- It was a suspension, not a cancellation. The CSC's announcements referred throughout to a rescheduled examination for those affected.
- The examination went ahead as scheduled everywhere it was not suspended, and those results follow the ordinary timeline.
What has not been announced
The date. At the last check against the CSC's channels there was no new date for the affected regions, and no announced arrangement for how the rescheduled sitting will work - whether the same room assignment holds, whether anything has to be re-submitted, or whether the fee is affected.
We are not going to estimate it. Setting a new date means finding rooms, proctors and a Sunday that works across several regions at once, and none of that is something a reader of announcements can predict. A number produced by guessing would be a guess wearing the clothes of an answer. If you have seen a specific date on a reviewer site, check whether it links to a CSC announcement - and treat it as somebody's speculation if it does not.
Where the announcement will actually appear
Three places, and the first is the one to check:
- The Facebook page of the CSC Regional Office that covers your testing centre. The suspension was regional and a reschedule will be too, so the office running your centre is the one that has to say what happens to it.
- The CSC website, under announcements.
- The CSC's national Facebook page, which usually carries the same notice.
Check the regional office first. If your centre was in Metro Manila that is CSC Regional Office NCR.
What to do with the time
This is the part nobody wants to hear on the day, and it is still true: an unexpected delay is the best thing that can happen to a preparation that was not finished. The syllabus has not changed and neither has the format. Whatever you were weakest at on 8 August you are still weakest at now, and you have found out about it without spending a result.
If you want to use it, the full-length simulation is assembled fresh each time rather than being a fixed paper, so sitting it twice measures you twice instead of measuring your memory of it. The coverage page sets out what is actually examined at each level.
